As an Esthetician I am constantly getting questions on what my best skin care tips are so today I’ve rounded up a few essentials. As usual if you have any questions leave me comments and I’ll answer them!
Wash your face at night. I can’t tell you guys how many of my clients would tell me they don’t wash their face at night and I am always shocked. It is SO important to do this. I know it can be so hard after a full day of work to make the effort to cleanse, tone and moisturize but your skin will seriously thank you in the morning. If you leave your makeup on then then all the debris and dirt will sit on your skin overnight causing breakouts and enlarged pores. Big no-no.
Use a gentle facial cleanser. I’m a big fan of gentle cleansers and not the harsh cleansers with beads or scrubs. Gentle cleansers don’t dry out your skin like some other cleansers do so I always suggest using something like this at least once a day.
Don’t pick. Whatever you do, don’t pick your own pimples, as you can spread bacteria onto the skin. Have you ever noticed when you pick a pimple nine times out of ten you make it so much worse? Well when doing this you can introduce new kinds of bacteria from fingers into the blemish. This can cause the blemish (pimple) to become inflamed, swollen and infected and can lead to lots of scarring. So as much as you want to pick at it, do you best and stay away!
Wear SPF. It’s so important to protect your skin from those harmful UV rays even on those cloudy days. I always say use an SPF of about 30.
Know your product order. There’s no use investing in expensive skincare products if you aren’t applying them in the right order. Always cleanse, apply serum first before your moisturizer (because they have a more targeted and higher concentration of active ingredients), then finally moisturize!
Moisturize! I can’t tell you guys enough that moisturizing is KEY to maintaining a beautiful skin. Any lack of moisturizing is the reason for wrinkles, dullness and surprise, surprise — oiliness! Many people who tend to be oily are always afraid to add moisturizer to their skin because they think it will make them even more oily when in turn it may be what it is lacking. Sometimes when your skin is lacking moisture it tries to compensate by naturally producing extra sebum which can result in being more oily causing additional breakouts.
Get a facial once a month. Getting facials monthly helps to eliminate clogged pores and keeps your skin looking healthy and glowing regularly. My favorite kind is a facial with a glycolic peel and I’ve been doing this since I was about 13 years old!
Hope these little tips helped and let me know if you guys have any other questions!

I make sure to manage the pimple late in the game and push it to the head of its material. Then at night I’ll moisturize more because I forgot to

Definitely agree with all these tips, especially about moisturizer. It fights off so many skin problems. And yes, moisturizers dont make your skin more oily. These are some really nice tips btw. Very informative.
