For those of you who haven’t been following along on IG, I recently purchased another home as an investment property! I was so excited to do so but the one thing I wasn’t so excited about? How much money it would take to furnish the home. Between all the costs it takes to actually purchase a home (appraisals, closing costs, inspections and oh, don’t forget that little down payment) the last thing I wanted to think about was where in the world I’d find the funds to furnish it. I had a particular vision in mind and if I’m being honest, it had to be aesthetically pleasing and of course, instagram worthy. I was able to do it on a slight budget and so incredibly shocked and happy how it all came out.
I did a poll on my stories a few weeks ago asking if anyone would want all the home links & tips I found along the way so here I am – starting with the bathrooms! The bathroom is a much smaller/simpler space to add decor pieces and necessities to however towels, and all the little knick knacks seriously add up! Here’s a little peek at my bathroom decor on a budget.
TOWELS: Since I was buying a LOT of towels for easy turnover, I didn’t want to spend a fortune but also didn’t want to get something flimsy and crappy. I searched high and low and found the FLODALEN bath and hand towels from Ikea and felt they not only looked luxurious but also felt amazing! (Tip: Once you wash and dry them, they come out way more “fluffy” looking than at the store). I also love that they have a loop for hanging. I will note I also used 2 of these Sand Cloud hand towels (which I had at home unused) to just lay on the countertop for ease of use as well.
GLASS JARS: I purchased various glass jars for decor (and functional) purposes for a great price. Various jars here, here, here & here. I love the look of them on a shelf or bathroom counter filled with cotton balls, q-tips, or any other essentials.
FAUX FLOWERS & VASES: Got the bathroom faux greens and flowers as well as the vases from Hobby Lobby! They are virtually identical from the ones you’d find at a higher end store and a fraction of the price. Also you can pick and choose from SO many different faux flowers/greens etc.. and customize it exactly how you like!
Q-TIPS, COTTON BALLS, CANDLES ETC: Dollar Tree! You’d be surprised how many regular everyday items sold at your traditional convenience store you can actually find at the Dollar Tree. Best part is – everything in the store is $1!
SOAP DISPENSER/WASTE BASKET: I wanted the soap dispensers (here & here) to have a cute extra flare so when all else fails, Target for the win! Also wanted a basket-woven type of wastebasket and they had exactly what I looking for.
