Living in SoCal, it’s no surprise I’m usually beach bound. Whether it is for an actual beach day or just to watch the sunset, I’m a total Cali girl at heart. I’ve always said I think that was one of the things that differentiates me from a lot of the fashion bloggers here because I opt for a lot of that SoCal beach style rather than the high fashion street style.
Now let me be the first to say beach style is not restricted to bikinis and your typical swimsuit. Of course it depends what you are doing at or near the beach but most the time if you’re like me just exploring you can get away with just about anything (well maybe skip the high heels).
So here are my tips for the perfect beach style:
*Denim is always a good idea.
*You honestly can never go wrong with some good patchwork. It screams SoCal.
*Since bodysuits are totally in right now, consider wearing your favorite one piece as part of your outfit (like I’m wearing above). Basically you can use your one piece as a bodysuit and wear it with a pair of shorts/jeans for an effortless look and the best part is, if you decide to take a last minute dip, you already have your suit on!
*Sandals are a must. Of course you can always opt for a more dressy sandal but heels just really don’t work.
*Don’t go too wild with the jewelry. Beach style is all about that effortless look, so stick to simple jewelry.
*Always pick a fun pair of shades. I’m a BIG sucker for sunglasses and when I’m at the beach (or near) I can get away with the most fun pairs. They can be virtually anything and for some reason at the beach, you can pull it off without a hiccup.
What are your favorite beach style tips?! XOXO
