Today’s post is all about a skincare brand that I was recently introduced to – DHC Skincare and a few of their products I’ve been using!
For those of you who don’t know, DHC is actually Japan’s No. 1 direct skincare company. They provide amazing beauty products, including skincare, body care and makeup items. The vision behind DHC is rooted in the beneficial properties of olive oil. Found to be one of nature’s finest ingredients for helping to achieve and maintain healthy, younger-looking skin, olive oil became the foundation for DHC’s full line of skin-gentle products.
Now that we’ve established that, lets dive into the different products I’ve been using.
Cleansing is a ritual in Japan, and many women repeat the process two or three times using a heavy-duty yet gentle cleansing oil. DHC’s Deep Cleansing Oil is a simple formula at a fantastic price, and some other Japanese brands try to imitate it. Its olive oil base gets off all of your makeup—even waterproof formulas—without stripping the skin dry. This is a HUGE plus for me because as you guys know, I’m ALL about using products that don’t strip the natural oils in your skin. When you start to strip the skin dry your skin goes a little crazy and that’s actually when you break out and have issues.
Next up is the DHC Face Wash Powder and this is my absolute favorite for when I’m traveling! This is a powder to foam cleanser which is why I especially love using it when I travel. I mean, lets be honest, nothing is worse than packing your favorite liquid cleanser and then arriving at your destination only to see it’s exploded on all your clothes. Common, I know I’m not the only one! Basically, it is a silky-soft powder that transforms with water into a lather for you to wash your face! I’m also a huge fan of products that have enzymes in it and this has exactly that which helps to remove dead skin but also doesn’t dry you out! You can also use it with the Foaming Mesh to maximize its lathering power!
If you guys have followed me for some time then you know, I use a toner after cleansing my skin ALL the time. A toner will help finish the cleansing process and help remove any excess makeup, dirt and oil. I’ve been using the DHC Soothing Lotion as my toner because it is geared for people like me who tend to be more on the dry side. I use this after cleansing my skin on a cotton ball and what I love most is that it totally soothes my skin and locks in moisture.
After cleansing and toning I of course HAVE to moisturize. Because I’m extremely dry I am very picky about what kind of moisturizes I use. It definitely has to feel great on my skin, lock in moisture and not break me out. I started using the Astaxanthin Collagen All-in-One Gel moisturizer and have been loving it. I especially LOVE using it in the evening because when I wake up it makes my complexion glow and hydrates SO well. Another thing? It features the antioxidant astaxanthin, a vitamin-like substance considered 6000 times more powerful than vitamin C. It absorbs deeply to moisturize/nourish the skin and if you are looking for something beneficial for aging, this is the one!
One last item I definitely want to mention is the DHC Revitalizing Moisture Strips because I have been using these NON-stop lately. I don’t know about you guys but sometimes I wake up after not getting a full 8 hours of sleep and my eyes look tired. Not even that there are just random days you feel like your skin looks dull and needs a little pick me up. These are amazing gel strip masks for the under-eye area. I actually pack these when I travel as well because with time differences, the air in the plane and such I need a little help from time to time. These moisture strips deliver nourishing ingredients that work to alleviate dark circles and reduce puffiness in only 20 minutes. I’ll literally put these on while I’m at my computer working or watching tv and I instantly feel 10x better. It helps fight the appearance of fine lines and helps brighten the under eye area significantly. I highly recommend you guys check it out!
As usual, let me know if you guys have any questions about any of these DHC Skincare products. Like I said, they are #1 in Japan for a reason and so affordable. Check out more of their products here!
