Lately I’ve been really working on getting into shape. If you’ve been following me on Instagram and Snapchat then you probably already know this but since I have gotten a lot of questions about it I thought I’d share more about it here! I really just wanted to get into shape, tone up and start working out regularly and make it a priority in my life. Since I am really bad at motivating myself, I decided the best way to do this was to get a personal trainer and really give it my all. So I committed, forked up the $ (and yes, it was a lot) and invested in it. I have to say though, I haven’t regretted it since.
Now, Apologies on the iPhone photo but I wanted to show you guys a progress pic and this was about the only one I had since well — I don’t have my photographer taking these of me, LOL. This is only about 3 weeks into my training and I’ve already seen huge results. I’ve definitely leaned out a TON and started to develop muscle in all the right places.
For those of you wondering about my fitness routine and what I’ve been doing I’ve been working with a trainer 3 times a week for more intense training and then on my off days I head to the gym and do about 20-30 mins of cardio. I take about 1-2 days off during the week from the gym also (Usually Sunday and another day unless I can make it to the gym). In terms of diet I’ve completely restricted that as well. On the days that I do my heavy workouts with my trainer I can have have protein, vegetables and carbs (but good carbs like whole wheat, brown rice, sweet potatoes etc..). Then on my days that I don’t work out with my trainer I have no carbs (which is about 4 days). At first when I heard no carbs I thought I wouldn’t be able to survive but I promise it gets so much easier. Sticking to this method, I’ve seen a total change in my body in about 3-4 weeks time.
Now I am in the Dominican Republic and I am keeping up the same routine even though I don’t have my trainer. Prior to leaving he taught me all the exercises I could while away and without a gym (and trust me, there are a LOT) so I am all set and I’ve been working at it even while here. As far as eating goes, I’ve also stuck to my diet for the most part. Here there is tons of fresh fish so my meals have pretty much consisted of fish and vegetables! On my workout day (which was today) I treated myself to a little Mojito! I will say though, working out in 85 degree weather and high humidity is NO JOKE! But hey, it feels good when finished!
If you guys have any other questions let me know and I’ll definitely be sharing with you the progress as I continue to go along with this throughout the weeks/months! Let’s see if I can get a six pack down! #GOALS
