Sweater Dress Combo

What the heck is going on in San Diego people?! It is a rain storm like no other! I’m telling you y’all this just does not happen. So yesterday I scheduled a photo shoot — of course, the one day it rains. And yes, as a Southern Californian, my motto is — It can’t POSSIBLY rain here so I’m just going to go for it…

Well.. we went for it.. and it definitely did rain on us.

Lucky for me, we pretty much finished right in time when the real storm started to hit but seriously, I have some bad luck when it comes to my shoots. Literally every time I schedule a photo shoot is the one time a month it is scheduled to rain in So Cal. I don’t get it… I just don’t.

Onto a more positive note — Today’s look is a great look for the Winter months when you don’t quite want to put away your dresses but don’t know how to wear them in the cooler months! What I’ve done here is taken one of my sleeveless navy dresses (linked above) and paired it with an oversized cardigan to instantly make a piece that otherwise would not be wearable in the colder months. I love doing this with many dresses since it actually changes the look of a dress completely. I mean, half the people wouldn’t even guess there is a dress underneath, they actually think this is one piece itself which is awesome. Pair the look with some knee high boots and voila, a winter look just like that!
