Big thanks to LensCrafters for sponsoring this post. #LensCraftersCrowdTrue life: I wear glasses.
Yep- although you don’t see me ALL the time wearing them, I sport them quite frequently. People who spend regular time with me knowing when I’m not wearing my glasses I’m usually awkwardly squinting at virtually everything leading everyone to say, “Girl, go put your glasses on!!”
Yep, it’s that bad.
I actually really like my glasses. A lot. And I love the different looks I can create with my glasses! There are a few tricks however to creating that perfect makeup look with glasses and I’m going to share them with you today.
No. 1: Learn to Highlight/Contour
Since you are wearing glasses, there are times when your glasses cast shadows on your eyes, the best thing that you can do is to lighten up certain parts of your skin. Use lighter foundation (or concealer) on the skin surrounding your nose as well as under the eyes. This simple step can surely work but if you wish to take things into a whole new level, you can try bronzer on your chee. kbones, side of the nose and top of the forehead.
No. 2: Tame those Brows!
It is always best that you keep your brows clean. Additionally, you must also make sure that the shape of your brow matches the size and style of your glasses. So just keep that in mind if your someone wearing glasses 24/7. Since I don’t wear my glasses all day everyday, I don’t have to worry all that much about this but just keep that in mind!
No. 3: Downplay your Lips
We all know that the general rule is to either highlight your eyes or your lips—never both. If you have glasses with dramatic flare and you want to match it with an equally dramatic eye shadow application, then downplay your lips. Opt for lipstick in neutral shade or just settle with a lip gloss instead. In the photo above, however, I opted for a brighter lip, just because I did not play on my eyes at all — instead the focus went to my lips! So just think which you’d rather highlight and pick one just not both!
No. 4: Blush is a Must
When you are wearing glasses and you are keeping your lips as natural as possible, the best way to add some color to your face is by putting on some blush. It is best that you opt for a blush powder so that the product will not mess up your glasses. Opt for one in pink shade and apply it along the apples of your cheeks to make your blush look natural.
No. 5: Use an Eyelash Curler
Most ladies wearing glasses are afraid of wearing mascara as they are worried that it might smudge and mess up not only their looks but their glasses as well. Lucky for you, there is one more way that you can “safely” make your lashes look longer and curly. Just use eyelash curler and you will be amazed at how it can open up your eyes and make it look more gorgeous than ever.
