13 Things You Never Knew About Me

When all is said and done, it’s our connections with people that really matter. It’s people that make the difference between good and GREAT. With that being said Love, Olia has always been a place where I’ve wanted to share my real authentic self and allow others who choose to follow to be themselves and connect with me as well. So here it is — sharing with you all 13 things you never knew about me!

I am deathly afraid of cotton // I know, you’re thinking WTF?! Maybe afraid isn’t the right word but I can’t touch a cotton ball to save my life. It’s kind of my “nails on a chalkboard” thing. It literally gives me goosebumps and shivers down my spine at any thought of it. If I have to use a cotton ball for something, I have to submerge it in water so it no longer feels the same. Don’t ask.

I used to be a child actor// Beginning around the age of 9-10 I started doing acting and modeling and appeared in many tv shows/movies. Growing up it was my dream and I landed a lot of roles but eventually let it go. To me, what I’m doing now is my version of all of that put together so hey, maybe all those acting lessons paid off in the end?

I speak French fluently // Although I’ve said my heritage is half french, half persian most people are always surprised to learn I speak French fluently. My mother spoke it to me as a child and still continues to.

If I could eat burgers and fries every day – I would // I love a good, greasy burger. Well, that or Chipotle.

I’m extremely OCD // I consider this the reason why I’m single. I like my home to be a certain way, organized in a particular fashion, and everything clean & tidy. Most men would say I’m their worst nightmare. If my house is out of order, I probably have close to a mental breakdown. Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating,… or am I?

I’m a news addict // I don’t really watch anything on TV other than the news. It’s on virtually 24/7 other than when I take a break to catch up with my Netflix favs. Basically I only pay my cable bill so I can watch the news. What a waste.

I love animals almost more than I love people // Nuff said.

I’m allergic to nuts // It was a sad day when I realized I could no longer eat Nutella I tell ya. I wasn’t always allergic to nuts but somewhere along the road I developed this allergy and well, I’ve had a few close encounters but nothing that has ever sent me to the emergency room.

I hated school // Once I hit my high school years and beyond, I absolutely hated it. So much so that I would try to skip school altogether as often as I could. I ended up getting my Bachelors in Accounting but honestly never enjoyed any of those “memorable” college years. I just never quite felt like I “fit in” but I was OK with that.

I’m really good at video games // Growing up with an older brother I would pride myself on being able to beat him and any and all video games, not that he’d ever let me <eye roll emoji> Nintendo, Sega, Playstation — you name it, I’ve had it.

I’m extremely sensitive // I may very well be one of the most sensitive people you will ever meet. Although I have tough skin when it comes to some things, for the most part you could probably get me to shed a tear without even trying.

I can’t stand bras // Random, I know but if I could go my whole life without wearing a bra I would. Unfortunately it’s not so culturally appropriate so I’ll have to deal with them for now. Sigh.

My eyebrows would put Brooke Shields to shame if I didn’t wax them // Fortunately for all of us, I do. When I was in Middle School however, I would get made fun and called “eyebrow lady.” Now apparently they are cool. Go figure.

I secretly want to be on Dancing with the Stars // No seriously I have dreams of knowing how to do an Argentine Tango. Then,..I wake up.
