This post is in partnership with Rainbow Light®. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
When it comes to living a productive and motivated life, your habits will be one of the main key factors that affect them. Particularly, your morning habits. This is because how you start your day determines and impacts the rest of your day. Don’t you agree?
Once you find the right productive morning routine you will actually enjoy getting up in the mornings rather than dread doing so (I know, hard to believe right?).
Think about it this way, look at any successful entrepreneur you follow and then think how likely it is that they are laying in bed in the mornings snoozing their alarm on repeat before they stumble out of bed.
The consistency of the routine is arguably the most important factor. It’s not enough to wake up early one day and do all the things to just go back to snoozing your alarm the following morning. The best course of action is to start off slow and incorporate one positive habit at a time.
Here’s a roundup of my top morning habits to adopt this year.
WAKE UP EARLY
There is something about waking up early that does wonders for productivity. It increases the window between the time you wake and the time that the rest of the world starts moving, meaning you have more time to just focus on yourself and do your own thing. Honestly mornings are my favorite part of the day because I take my time, plan out my day and have a couple hours to myself without any distractions and I find it incredibly therapeutic!
MAKE YOUR BED
Listen, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… Start your day with a small win like making your bed! I’m not lying when I say it’s such a great way to boost your mood and boost your productivity levels. It really gives you that accomplished feeling and increases your likelihood of success. Plus, it just makes your room look that much prettier which makes a huge difference to your mood and stress levels!
DRINK MORE WATER
After a long night’s sleep without having any water, your body dehydrates therefore its so necessary to drink a lot of water when you wake up to hydrate your body functions! Of course make yourself that cup of coffee as well but don’t forget to hydrate with some water beforehand! It is said that water will increase our metabolism rate, help our body to flush out any toxins, and refreshes our body and mind. Win-win in my book.
TAKE VITAMINS AND/OR IMMUNE HEALTH SUPPORT SUPPLEMENTS
It is important to practice healthy living and getting the nutrients your body needs by taking a daily vitamin or supplement for immune health support.
I discovered Rainbow Light® Counter Attack™ which provides a powerful way to support immune system health and I’ve officially made it a part of my morning routine. This immune health supporting supplement contains high potency vitamin C and an excellent source of zinc, along with three targeted blends for overall immune support. Just take two tablets a day and voila!
MOVE YOUR BODY
I get it, we don’t always have the time to get a full blown high intensity workout in every day but what about just making a point to move your body in the morning? Whether that means a cycling class or just a brisk walk with your dogs, it will work wonders!
When you exercise and when you sweat, your body will release endorphins. And endorphins will make you feel happy. It also helps make you disciplined. It’s going to be your first win when you exercise in the morning and once you do it, you have your first accomplishment of the day (well, besides making your bed).
SHOWER
Showering in the morning is an extra step you can do the feel cleansed and energized! It washes off old energies and helps you feel like your starting the day fresh (literally).
PLAN YOUR DAY
Planning is an essential part of productivity – if you go about life without a plan then it’s highly unlikely you’re going to stumble into success. Make sure that you have a plan in place before you begin your day to ensure that you stay focused on your goals and are moving towards them at a steady pace. I like to spend about 15 minutes every morning by jotting down tasks that I want to accomplish while placing 3-5 of them as the “most important” to me.
The difference between ordinary people and extraordinary people is that ordinary people focus on getting things done, extraordinary people focus on doing things that make them successful. Commit to planning your day each morning before the day started. Make it your morning habit and you will be impressed by how effective you can be.
