What most of you maybe don’t know is I was actually born in Florida but lived in San Diego most my life. In fact, I can’t actually remember anything other than San Diego so that’s how young I was when we moved here. I have traveled a lot but every time I’m away (although I love to travel) there’s seriously no place I’d rather come home to so is what I like most about living in San Diego hey maybe it will encourage some of you to make a visit in my hometown 😉
Weather
They say than the weather forecasters in San Diego have the easiest job in the world as they typically just have to say, “It’s going to be a beautiful day today,” every day of the year. That may be slightly exaggerated but it’s kind of true. Lets just say when it rains in San Diego, people don’t know how to dress, drive, or move. It’s actually embarrassing.
Beaches
I love the fact that I live so close to some of the best beaches the country. La Jolla and Coronado are by far my favorite of the bunch. I just cannot imagine not living close to the beach since I’ve grown up with it my whole life.
People
Everyone is super laid back and down to earth. I mean, we are a beach town so it does make sense. I will admit however, I haven’t had the best dating experience here. Maybe it’s a little too laid back, if you know what I mean. Ha!
Beer & Wine
Ok so it’s mostly known for beer but I just added in the wine part because I’m more of a wine person anyways. Getting back to the beer though, it’s No. 3 on the Forbes best beer cities list (after Portland and San Francisco) for a reason. Nearly every bar carries a selection of local brews like Stone, Coronado, and Karl Straus. SD knows its way around a tasty IPA.
Gaslamp
Restaurants of all types stretch out in the downtown Gaslamp area, and there are equally as many bars as well. Petco Park is one of the most beautiful baseball stadiums in America and it’s always fun to catch a Padres game (no matter what place they’re in or if you’re even a fan of baseball).
We are the millennial capital of the U.S.
Yep I didn’t know this before but San Diego is ranked #1 in the country for percentage of the population aged 18–34. This young group outnumbers the baby boomers, so hey, the future’s literally here!
I get to be my casual self
As you guys can tell from my posts and IG feed, I’m more of a casual gal. In San Diego it’s always appropriate to be casual no matter what day of the week it is. Think a combination of flip flops, maxi dresses and big trendy glasses. Oh and can’t forget a “going to the gym” look because that’s all over San Diego.
It’s the best city in California
San Diego was the first city in California. It’s also the second largest. We probably have the best collection of surf spots, overall, in terms of access, variety, crowds, etc. We’re the closest, not just in proximity, but in like, coolness, with Mexico. And our dining and nightlife is on par with most anybody else’s. And no, I’m not biased… at all 😉

What I like most about living in San Diego is you. .😉 haha, when I went there I always had fun and if my business was never in Atlanta first it would be there, I’m actually from Alameda but only remember living in Georgia so it’s the total opposite (or kinda the same)- Where I live is very very similar and I love it because laid back / get to be myself, etc I did notice it was also quite country there I went around 2006 the first time reminded me of my town, I like that speed and it’s a sweet place. Most would say the same about Atlanta too laid back and etc then again I never see them reading more

Heading there for a few days at the end of March. Will it be warm enough for me to lay out on the beach? Can’t figure out how warm it will actually be. Thanks!

Ah it prob won’t be warm enough but I would bring a suit just in case!! You’ll definitely be able to walk on the beach and sit and hang out but to lay out in a swim suit might still be a bit too chilly! But thats just me, I’m a baby when it comes to the cold haha!
