Today I’m 32! Crazy to say out loud but I can honestly say I’m more comfortable in my life now than I ever was! Here are 32 things I’ve learned along the way:
– Karma is real. Treat people well. It will always come back to you.
– Judgement is an inner reflection. People that judge you are really just judging themselves. Same goes for you, too.
– “Let go of what does not serve you” is a motto to live by. Relationships, careers, habits, ideas, etc. As hard as it is to let go, there’s something better waiting, and you’ll never find it if you don’t let go of what’s holding you back.
– Your real friends know everything about you and still love you. And most importantly, they love you and want you to live an amazing, abundant life.
– Phenomenal business aren’t built on ideas and visions. They’re built on action and good old-fashion hard work.
– Money truly does not buy happiness, but it can make your life a little more comfortable.
– Family time should be cherished and held near to your heart.
– Pets make people happier… It’s scientifically proven.
– Never stop learning. The most successful people are those who are the first to admit they don’t know everything because they are always willing to learn.
– Save more than you spend. I believe heavily in putting away money for a rainy day, retirement or whatever. I was always taught to not spend what you don’t have. A new handbag feels great, trust me I know… But being financially stable and responsible feels a whole heck of a lot better.
– You’ll never regret chasing your dreams. But you will regret it if you don’t chase them.
– Have dessert. Maybe not after every single meal… But life is short, order the dessert.
– Don’t settle for less. Don’t settle for the wrong relationship, the wrong job or even a wrong friendship. God’s way is always better than what we could have ever planned for ourselves.
– There’s nothing wrong with wanting to make a great income and have nice things. There is something wrong with not being grateful for what you have and the luxuries you can afford. Be grateful.
– If the guy likes you, you’ll know. If they don’t, you’ll be confused. Nuff said.
– Envy is the enemy of happiness. When we compare ourselves with other’s successes and come away disappointed, it rarely works to motivate us toward greater success and happiness.
– Invest in good skincare. Take care of your skin! Do you know why they’re so damn expensive? Because they work! Investing on your skin is also investing on yourself.
– Exercise. Not to impress someone but do it for you. And to make you feel good inside and out.
– We are stronger than we think. Don’t ever believe you won’t be able to move on and pick up the pieces, because you will. Every nerve and fiber in your being will help you pull through. Give yourself time to wallow in misery but know when to stand up and move on.
– Have fun. Try not to take life too seriously. Live your life. Laugh often. And believe the beauty of magic.
– It’s okay to not be okay. Remind yourself of this. Cry yourself to sleep. Scream out in frustration. Break down. It’s okay to not be okay sometimes.
– Don’t live your life for other people. Live for yourself. If you love to be the life of the party and go out every weekend, do so! And if you’d prefer to spend a Friday night in dressed in pj’s and binge watching Netflix, so be it! Life your live for one person – YOU!
– Stop caring about what other people think or say about you. We can’t please everyone and that is okay. Don’t ever lose yourself in the process just to get the approval of people who don’t deserve you in their lives.
– If someone shows you who they are, believe them.
– People will treat you the way you allow them to.
– Listen to your intuition. It’s always right. It knows more than your mind ever will.
– Slow down. Stop rushing. Otherwise you’ll wake up one day and look back on life not having fully lived it. Don’t let life pass you by.
– Smile. Because it’s the most beautiful thing you can wear. And because it makes you feel good and infects others with positivity too.
– Surround yourself with people who lift you up. Let go of the ones who drag you down. Life is too short to waste your time with people who make you feel bad.
– Good manners are one of your best assets.
– Put the phone down and just listen.
– I feel younger at 32 than I did at 25. The say your 30’s are your best years and although I’ve been through some ups & downs, nothing is better than right now.
