As an Esthetician, I am always looking at ways to improve my skin by trying new and innovative products. During the Spring/Summer months I am usually spending a lot of time outside and with that means a lot of sun exposure. Although I am very careful with my skin as it is, I always like to incorporate products that can aid with how my skin is feeling at that particular time. Currently that means summer-proofing my skin.
I recently was introduced to SK-II’s Facial Treatment Essence and really wanted to take part in their #OneBottleAwayFrom challenge. I turned 30 this year which is a big deal for me and have been in a kick to really take care of ME, and of course keep that skin glowing as I head into my thirties!
The SK-II Facial Treatment Essence helps to improve the appearance of skin. One of the special ingredients in SK-II is Pitera™. Pitera™ is a clear liquid rich in vitamins, amino acids, minerals and organic acids. It’s a miracle ingredient discovered 37 years ago that remains essentially unchanged till today. I am always trying to find products that include amazing ingredients while also not causing breakouts and after testing this out, it definitely keeps my skin radiant.
Now, although I have a skin care regimen that I love, I wanted to incorporate the Facial Treatment Essence into my daily routine so I could get a feel for how it compliments my current products. I typically apply this after I have washed my face but before I have moisturized. I just soak a cotton pad or add 4-5 drops onto my hand. I then tap it gently and evenly to my face and also my neck. I’ve said this many times but I have to say it again — the neck is a VERY important area to take care of although we sometimes forget about it. As an esthetician, women would most often complain that they wished they had taken more care of their neck area when they were younger so let’s all remember this so we have no regrets!
Since I have that olive skin tone, I tend to get acne and sun spots and scar super easily. What I noticed after using this product for a couple weeks is my spots appear less visible, the texture of my skin is extremely smooth and my skin seems much more firm. I’ve also noticed that I can go makeup free after using SK-II which makes getting ready quickly a breeze!
I may be #OneBottleAwayFrom turning 30 but not even nervous in the least bit. Taking care of yourself inside and out is so important and always remember, age is only a number!

Your skin always looks so good! I don’t think I have heard of Pitera before. My skin tone is similar to yours. I need to check this out if it helps reduce the appearance of sun spots. I wish I was smarter as a kid and used sunscreen every day!
