Do you ever have moments thinking about something and realize you have spent WAY too much time and energy on an issue that wasn’t worth it? I have (and continue to do so) all too often. I really do want to become more aware of what’s worth my energy so I’m on a mission to understand what is serving me and well,.. what isn’t.
1. Spending way too many hours on social media.
This is a hard one because technically, it is my job. There are moments when I mindlessly scroll Instagram peeking into other people’s virtual lives. But here’s the thing, searching Google, social media or someone else’s blog for how to live your life is NOT going to help you live your life.
2. Listening to everyone else’s voice but my own.
Ever feel as if you’re living someone else’s life? And that you’ve become disconnected from your intuition? That’s what happens when you’re reading and absorbing what everyone else has to say too much. You become disconnected from YOUR life. So, if it helps purge everything that is unnecessary and only surround yourself with people and things that help you feel uplifted, inspired and just what you need for your life right now.
3. Insisting that it be “just right” or “perfect” before you put it out there.
When I first started my blog, it was far from perfect. If I had waited until it was “just right” I would never be here today. I truly believe that the “perfect” mindset can actually hold you prisoner one too many times. Do your best, and move on. There will never be a “perfect” time, just sayin…
4. Letting other people kill my joy.
I do love helping others and while I am an introvert and empathize to everyone’s struggles, it can be hard when While I love helping others, I do not enjoy having my joy ripped away from me because my fellow humans are having a bad day. Not cool. Now, here’s the tricky part – I’m an introvert and an empath which means I’m sensitive to other people’s energy – both positive and negative. It means if you interact with me and you’re miserable, I can go from happy and upbeat to miserable too if I don’t protect my energy.
So what SHOULD we do?
Eliminating the energy vampires in our lives.
Toxic people? Yes, they can go ahead and leave now. Their drama is NOT worth your time or energy and if you can’t avoid them then maybe set limits and boundaries to help from sucking out your energy. What we spend our time on is a direct reflection of what our life looks like. If you want a beautiful life, find out what currently doesn’t align with that vision and make some changes.
Make time and space for your intuition and listen to it.
Ignoring your intuition is like telling the Universe you don’t want to live a beautiful and loving life. Intuition to me is EVERYTHING. There hasn’t been a time where my intuition has failed me yet and for that I really try to focus my energy there.
Self-care.
If you want a beautiful life and to help others you can’t expect to do it if you don’t take care of yourself. Indulge in self-care for 10-15 minutes a day if you can and I promise it will be worth your time and energy in the long run.

First of all, I am obsessed with your dress. It is beautiful and the color is my favorite. Secondly, yes I have been there and done that. I still do it every so often but I am also becoming aware of what’s worth my energy. Lastly, these are great tips and I couldn’t agree with you more on number 1 and 2.
