One of the most requested posts I’ve had by far is for some more home decor posts and posts of my home! I think we always hesitate to share because any of you who are homeowners know, it is ALWAYS a work in progress. You have this fear to “share” because you’re “just not quite done” or might want to change something.
TBH, that is me 90% of the time and I finally said you know what, screw it – I’ll share it now because I don’t think I’ll ever fully be “finished.”
To begin, the reason I bought this home was mostly for the layout of the home, open concept and one of the BIGGEST reasons was all the large windows/doors giving off a TON of natural light every single day.
The first thing I do everyday is open up my blinds and allow all the light into the home. It’s literally my favorite part of the morning – to be able to sit here with the sun beaming in sipping on my coffee while doing some emails. Here is a little peek inside the place I spend the most time – my family room.
This room was actually an addition to the home. It was probably half the size of this to begin with and was added to to create a larger more “useable” room and I’m SO happy it’s like this. This is where I decided to put my family room for lounging and spending most my time. This is the only spot in the main living area of the home that has a TV so as you can imagine I spend a lot of time here, haha. I wanted to make this a more casual room as opposed to my living room which is a little more of “sitting” area when I have guests and such.
I’ll be honest, this room has been slightly challenging for me when it came to decorating it because I wanted something that matched my home (whites, greys, light and airy) but that was still comfortable when people came over. The worst is when you decorate your home for “looks” as opposed to comfort, right?! I wanted to create a bit of both.
As you guys probably know from following me on IG, I did a lot of work in my home so getting new furniture was kind of last on my list. I used my old stuff for the most part and waited until I had all my bigger projects out of the way before I started buying new items. It was actually the best way to go because I always say it’s important to live in the space for some time before running out and buying furniture because it allows you time to really envision what you want for the space.
Like I said, this room is where I spend most of my time (here and the kitchen lol) and I’m usually doing everything from working, to lounging and of course Netflix & chill(ing). With that being said, once I was ready to purchase new items I knew I wanted my couch to be SUPER comfortable while still looking chic. I knew I wanted a grey color since it’s neutral and matches well with the tones of my house and also hides dirt easier than say..a white couch. The kicker to this couch is that it is actually a…recliner! I was hooked when I saw it and new I had to have it. I’ve always loved recliners BUT they usually are too bulky and tend to really “look” like a recliner which I didn’t want. All the seats recline in this one and the head rest is completely adjustable as well.
When it comes to the rest of the room I’d say I splurged on certain pieces and found some steals for others. Here are all the details on my pieces in this room and I hope you guys truly love it as much as I do!

Hey, love your post. Could you tell me where the sofa actually comes from? I’ve been looking for a modern reclining sofa and have all but gave up! Please help! Not sure I like the Living Spaces one that you said was similar.
