I’m back sharing even more photos from my trip to Sonoma County!! While last post focused a lot on where we stayed today I wanted to talk about Sonoma in general and what I did while there! First of all, I was SO incredibly happy to hear that there was a direct flight from San Diego to Sonoma which made me even more at ease. The flight was literally about an hour and half, a total breeze and WAIT FOR IT — they serve complimentary wine & beer on the plane!!! I promise you guys I’m not an alcoholic but common, free wine?! I’ll take it!! It honestly got the experience going from the moment I stepped on that plane!
Once I arrived I was shocked to see how small and cute the Sonoma airport was! It has this charm about it and honestly makes you kind of feel at home! My girlfriend Erika was so kind to pick me up from the airport since she lives there and immediately started showing me around. The drive to the hotel was gorgeous, everything is so green and literally perfect!
After we got settled into our hotel, we had dinner at Willi’s Wine Bar which was SO delicious. We had tons of wine (of course!) and their plates are all meant to share which was really fun to try new things. The next day was the big day of wine tasting and visiting Sonoma! We started off the day at La Crema Winery. It was such a beautiful winery and had the most beautiful view from the balcony where we sat to taste some wines! The wines were SO delicious and I have to say I think my favorites are always the Pinot Noir’s. After a couple hours there, we went to Macrostie Winery. This one may have been my favorite of the two. We sat at these cozy couches, they gave us blankets and we got to tasting. They also were so kind to give us a wonderful meat & cheese plate which was also so good. The view from the Estate House was stunning making you not want to leave. Honestly though, I have begun to realize that everywhere in Sonoma is literally breathtaking so you really can’t go wrong.
After lots of wine we were all very hungry of course and went to Healdsburg for another wonderful dinner. I didn’t have one bad meal while there, one bad experience, or one bad wine! Haha! But seriously after my visit I’m already itching to head back — in fact planning my next trip out there now! For those of you who have never been, Sonoma is such a gem you HAVE got to visit and you will not regret it one bit! You can check out the Sonoma County website here to plan your trip as well!
