How to Show a Little Bra,… Tastefully

I know, I know.. ever since we were teens we are told that we want to always hide our bra and not let our straps show. While that is still to an extent true, I’m sure you’ve all seen the new trend where showing a little lacy bra isn’t the worst thing in the world. In fact, it can totally make an outfit these days.

So the biggest question I’ve gotten is HOW to pull off that “I meant to show a little bra” without looking like you are trying to flash the world. Well, it’s exactly that — you want to make it look intentional, not accidental. These days there are so many low cut and see-through blouses that it sometimes has you thinking, how the heck can I get away with wearing this and making it cute?! Well, the answer is showing a little lingerie never hurt anyone.

These days it’s all about the lacy details and those cute bralettes. Let me tell you, when bralettes started being a “thing” I couldn’t have been more thrilled. I’ll be honest with you guys — I’m a bit bustier and while I love having boobs I absolutely HATE bras with padding and wires that dig into my chest. I like to show off what I have and that’s it. I think bras are insanely uncomfortable and I’ve always been one to either not wear a bra (yep, I said it) or go for some kind of a sports bra style that just well,.. holds the girls in COMFORTABLY. Bralettes are now basically the combination of the two meaning I am ALL in. The only problem for me is finding a bralette that also gives a girl with a bust coverage and enough support. While it can be a bit challenging, I’ve definitely found some styles I love.

Here are some of my favorite bras right now that would make perfect ones to show off with a low cut top, or see through top:

If you’re wearing a low cut top don’t be afraid to show a tiny bit of lace and leave the rest to imagination. Another type of look is the one I’m wearing in today’s post. This was a blouse I absolutely fell in love with except the only problem? It was practically 100% see-through. Rather than ruin the design by wearing a tank underneath, I opted for a cute lacy bra I had at home. This was actually a regular lacy bra with underwire and all that had no padding. It has enough coverage but is still cute and sexy. In my opinion it makes the blouse stand out even more because you can focus on all its pretty details.

These days the exposed bra look is everywhere and it truly can make an outfit so don’t be afraid to try out some styles and let a little peek through, just make sure it’s done tastefully!
