How to Survive Mercury Retrograde

In case everything seems to be going wrong for you right now I’m here to tell you you are not alone. Mercury is in retrograde until July 31 and lets just say life always going haywire during this time. In astrology, Mercury rules communication, intelligence and timing. When it goes into retrograde, these areas of our lives have the tendency to go a little out of control. So here are some tips on how to survive Mercury Retrograde and make it out (relatively) unharmed, haha!

1. Review all contracts and legal documents before signing. This is a big one I’ve read about. It’s important not to enter into any big commitments during this time or to REALLY make sure you are reading and reviewing everything thoroughly. 

2. Pause and breathe before speaking.

3. Read all emails and documents before you send. I mean, we are all guilty of pressing an email too soon but make sure you triple check during this time.

4. Insure/track important mail and packages (Mercury rules the postal system).

5. Get your vehicles (or bikes) tuned up, pack an emergency roadside kit. Why does this remind me that I really need an emergency earthquake kit?

6. Be sure not to take things too personally. People will often say offensive things they didn’t mean around this time, because their thinking is clouded and their communication skills are on pause! If your best friend suddenly became the most insensitive person in the world, give her the benefit of the doubt.

7. Back up your data! — One thing I’m about to do shortly.

8. Finish things you started a while ago. Home improvement projects? Wardrobe re-organization? This is an excellent time to tie up loose ends and file things away forever.

At the end of the day, make sure you are just reviewing things carefully, revisiting friendships and focusing on you rather than starting new relationships, or overlooking certain things. Obviously, some people don’t believe in Mercury Retrograde or think much about it but to each their own and well,.. I’ll be here mentally preparing.
