Happy Friday guys! As you guys know, fitness and staying active has been an important part of my lifestyle for some time now. I’ve posted in the past my fitness journey, my workout regimens and been open about how I used to have a personal trainer about 2-3x a week. I will say, that time was AMAZING and I loved every minute of it however, it was getting super expensive and having a set schedule to adhere to was a bit difficult since some days I wanted to go work out at different times and couldn’t really change around my schedule last minute. Not to mention, I kept catching myself getting sick at the gym often (I think I have a weak immune system). I took a little break from personal training for a while and had gotten my first piece of home gym equipment (the MIRROR) which I talked about previously on my blog and started seeing how much I loved having the flexibility of working out from home when I wanted to.
After thinking about what I wanted to do for a while, I decided what I REALLY wanted was to have a place where I could get all my workouts done at once in the comfort of my home whenever I wanted and that’s when I decided I really wanted to create my own type of home gym.
I’ve never liked the look of bulky gym equipment in a home so that’s what had made me hesitant for a while but thanks to new technology out there these days, everything has improved tremendously and there are so many sleek and gorgeous new pieces of equipment that have completely changed my mine.
My current setup I have: Peloton, MIRROR and Tonal and I love them all equally SO much! So lets get into it.
For me to be into my workouts and push for it, I definitely need someone with me (hence a trainer) or to take some kind of a class that is interactive and just makes it “fun” for me so that’s why I really LOVE these three pieces of equipment. Each one has an interactive “trainer” or “class” that you take which walks you through everything and gets you through. It honestly makes me feel like I have a trainer right there with me and pushing me every step of the way. It also helps me know that when that “class” or “session” is done, I’ve done my complete workout for the day if that makes sense. No having to think if I got my workout in on my own.
Peloton is how I get my cardio in, Tonal my strength workouts and while MIRROR does strength, I actually use it for stretching and yoga type workouts (and abs)!
I think I’ll do an in-depth review on each piece of equipment separately if you guys are interested but just wanted to show you all a little overview of what I have going on in my home as far as my workouts are concerned since I’ve gotten some questions about it in the past!
Note: YES, these machines are an investment but I look at it as they are an initial investment and then you have them for life whereas when I was doing personal training I was paying the price of one of these machines every 2-3 months! So for me personally, it was worth it.
I’m still working on getting the room decorated, getting some art pieces up and some hooks/shelves to hang things but just wanted to show you what I’m working with right now! If you would like to read the review I did previously on the MIRROR you can check it out here!
Hope you guys have an amazing weekend!
