My Trip to Vichy

As you guys may know from following me on Instagram, I’ve been doing a LOT of traveling lately. Nothing I’m complaining about — in fact, I LOVE to travel and see new places SO much so that I wish I could do it every week. Recently however, there was one trip that kind of took the cake.

A few weeks ago I received the most amazing offer to head out to Vichy, France with the brand Vichy themselves!! Most of you know the brand Vichy like the back of your hands because it’s THAT good but for those of you who may not, Vichy is an amazing french skin care line. In fact, Vichy is the #1 anti-aging brand in European pharmacies!

I was given the opportunity to head out to Vichy, France where this brand essentially began. They formulate all their products with the Vichy thermal spa water which is rich in 15 rare minerals. This water is created over the course of its journey through the millennial rocks of the Auvergne volcanoes in Central France and I got to head out to France to see HOW it actually works. Considering I’m French (speak it fluently) AND an Esthetician this was truly a dream come true!

The trip was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had and I’m so grateful for it. The Vichy team took care of everything from start to finish. We stayed at the Vichy Celestins Spa Hotel which is known as on elf the three finest European Spa Destinations. Seriously guys – from the moment you walk in there you feel calm in a sense and the staff was SO kind.

The first night we had  chance to settle in after the long travel day but had the chance to have dinner at a wonderful French Restaurant walking distance from our hotel. It was called La Table de Marlene which overlooked the River Allier. The food was delicious and it was such a beautiful setting!

On our first full day there we went to the Vichy factory where the product is actually made and packaged. We learned all about their new Mineral 89 product which is absolutely amazing and I’ll talk more about in a future post. We were able to see everything from start to finish and learned how they mix their ingredients and all.

We had lunch at the Palais des Congres which was delicious and then attending a bunch of workshops the Vichy team set up for us so we could really get a feel for how their product is created with the finest ingredients and how the process comes about including quality control and such. We also attended dinner here which was SO beautiful. It was more of a formal dinner and lets be honest a lot of wine – I mean, when in France right?!

The next day we started the day off with a helicopter ride over the Auvergne volcanoes in Vichy! This is where the Vichy Thermal Water originates from and cannot be reproduced by science. We flew over the volcanoes and it was such an amazing experience. Don’t worry none of these volcanoes are currently active! While flying we got to see the beautiful countryside and I completely fell in love. We also had a chance to visit the natural hot springs as well!

One of the experiences I was MOST excited about was to try out their Vichy Spa at the hotel! As an Esthetician I’m usually the one GIVING facials to other people so to be able to enjoy a true relaxing facial myself was such a treat! It was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable spa treatments I’ve ever had. She explained all the products she used on me and from the moment she put them on my skin I was in love with everything from the way they smell, to the hydration I was receiving and more. She also used the new Mineral 89 product which is one of my absolute favorites. I’ll be honest guys – I’m a HUGE believer in French skin care. I may be biased because I’m French myself BUT I swear there is nothing better.

Finally we ended our day with another amazing dinner at the hotel and got to catch up one last time with all the new friends we made which was such a treat. I am truly SO grateful for the experience to head back to my home country, experience something new and most of all learn more about Vichy!
