I don’t know about you guys but I personally don’t think there is anything comfier than wearing a dress. I mean, I get that some people are just not “dress” types and that’s totally fine but for those of us that are dress lovers we are always wanting to figure out ways to wear them even in colder weather.
Fortunately for me, San Diego doesn’t ever get TOO cold but I will say right now is probably on the “colder” side and I personally am too much of a baby to go out without a sweater/jacket on right now. So here are a few tips on how to wear dresses in the winter:
WEAR TIGHTS
This might be an obvious one but think back to when you were little and your mom always made you wear tights, she had it right. The easiest way to look great in tights is to go with all black, for a classic look.
WEAR A SWEATER
You don’t have to pack up up your favorite slip dresses or floaty maxis when summer ends. Just throw an oversized sweater on top, pair with boots, and you have the perfect winter outfit.
OVER THE KNEE BOOTS
Wear a dress that hits just above the top of the boot, and top with a jacket or coat that’s similar length (and color!) of the dress for extra sleekness.
CHUNKY BOOTS
This is one of my personal favorites for a more laid back style. As I’m wearing in the look above, I feel adding chunky ankle boots are a great way to wear a dress in the winter while still keeping it casual and “cool.” I matched the laces on my boots to my leather jacket to pull it all together and I love how it turned out!
SCARVES
These are statement pieces you can’t go wrong with. They add a chic, effortless and feminine touch to your winter dressing style, and look perfect with absolutely any kind of dress or jacket.
So there you have it – a few tips on how to accessorize and “warm” up your dresses for colder weather. Hope you guys found a little inspo!
