I wish I could tell you guys that I have this crazy life and that I spend my weekends going on wild adventures all the time but to be honest, that’s actually not me. While I absolutely love the weekends, it always surprises people to know that I am a big introvert. That doesn’t mean I like to just sit in a hole and hibernate by my lonesome self (LOL) but I do enjoy weekends to myself, friends and my little pup, Merlot. With that being said, here are my favorite ways to spend the weekend in honor of well, another weekend at our fingertips 😉
Spend Time with Friends & Family
This is the time that I tend to unplug a bit ore from work and focus on my loved ones. Because I am a business owner I put in a hell of a lot of hours during the week so I feel like sometimes my relationships tend to take a backseat. The weekend is the perfect opportunity to meet with friends, unwind and just catch up without work looming over. This always helps me be less resentful come Monday because I don’t feel like work comes first seven days a week if that makes sense.
Take a Nap
I feel like I sound like a grandma adding this one in but you guys, I have to. Naps are my favorite!! Because I allow myself to be a bit more lenient with my workload on the weekends I feel like I allow myself to fully relax, get comfortable and cozy on my couch and hey if a nap happens, it happens and I don’t fight it one bit. Naps help me feeling refreshed, energized and ready to accomplish more immediately. Or they just help me catch up from the lack of sleep I’ve missed during the week, oops!
Go Out, Mingle & Have a Drink…or Two
I’m 30, I’m single and I work damn hard. So when the weekend rolls around you better believe there is going to be at least one night that I try to get out with a good friend and have a little fun. If that means dinner and drinks or a little more of a last call dance your pants off kinda night, then so be it. Well,… not really your pants off, but you catch my drift. Regardless, life is meant to be LIVED, and at the end of the day I am always responsible, have fun and well laugh so much I probably get a good ab workout at the same time. So, that’s gotta count for something too, right?
Workout
My workouts during the week are usually my more intense strength training workouts with my trainer so typically when I workout during the weekend it involves something outside like biking, running or just a long walk with my dog. I just try to get out and be active for a bit. If not, I’ll try to make it to the gym but I don’t push myself on the weekends since I allow myself this time to breathe a bit more and relax as opposed to the weekdays when I push myself harder.
Read & Meditate
The weekends are a time for me to unwind and de-stress. During the week I find that I am so high strung with work and since I run my business my mind seems to be running on high 24/7. To be honest, sometimes it takes me meditating and really calming myself down to just get myself to fall asleep at night because I am that stressed out. Yep, it can be that bad.
During the weekend however, I like to focus on myself, my health and positivity. I only surround myself with positive people and I have said that before because it’s the only way I have found truly keeps me in a calm state. I also have found reading and meditating really soothes me and opens my mind up to new things and also helps my creative mind flowing which is something I really love. Being creative and in my element is something I truly enjoy so I never want that part of what I live for to disappear so it’s important for me to find a way to manage the two.

I’ll take a nap to reset my focus and change channels(even if it’s only for 20mins)or Merlot & I will go on a magic carpet ride while you work. I like to do anything nice because of coming a long way- opening my mind is key to being better because the projects continue, realizing it’s all fun in the end😏
